Dear Adam - Ava Zavora EDIT to add Adam (without the tattoos) Purchase - September 16th! An interesting, fresh read with a unique twist. Ava Zavora has woven a tale about a unconventional couple that mirrors the attitude of the technological age. Eden, divorced mother of one, spends her spare time immersed in the world of literature. One day, she catches the interest of online personality, Adam. Their acquaintance progresses from casual to more involved, to serious within a few months. She and Adam have a connection, something that she's never felt with anyone else, even in person. He's cultured, mature, has an amazing voice, and is absolutely captivating. She's never been able to talk to anyone like she can talk to Adam. However, is their attraction only limited to the places in cyberspace? Is Adam even real or is he just someone playing games? As their relationship becomes more and more serious, Eden begins to question whether it's reality or fiction. The thing I enjoyed the most about Dear Adam aside from it's refreshing and interesting storyline, was the author's way with words. Similar to Leah Raeder of Unteachable, Zavora possesses a lyric, mature style of storytelling. The synopsis simply drew me in and by the hook, I was literally hooked. Is it possible to love a man you've never met? Are you falling in love with the man or just the conclusions that you've drawn based on your own inferences? But that's not even taking into account whether or not the personality on the other end of the screen is even real. It's a pretty big gamble for anyone to make the foray into the online 'dating' world. There are very easy ways for people to manipulate and ensnare gullible parties without their even knowing. The writing and the beginning really drew me in. The middle, with the constant back and forth between emails/text kind of drug for me. Mostly because I wanted a little more action and that's hard to do with this particular format, but the things in the emails had to be said so that can't be discounted. Once you get past that things really start moving. Drama! Drama! Drama! Adam, due to his lifestyle, has kept an almost obsessive hold on his identity, not even sending Eden a picture. She begins to doubt his trustworthiness. Months go by and she begins to doubt her own conclusions so she hires a private detective to get to the bottom of everything. Is he real? Or is he a lie? One or two things about the story, the dragging in the middle and the unlikelihood that her best friend would be going trough an internet scammed relationship, as well as a word or two that was repetitive kept me from giving this 5 stars. Otherwise this was an engaging, entertaining read that I'm glad I got the chance to be a part of. “You’re the more real to me than any man I’ve ever known … ”To book blogger Eden, Adam is the embodiment of every literary fantasy she’s ever had. Intelligent, wickedly funny, sexy, and attentive – he and his fascinating life seem right out of a novel. Why does he seem reluctant to meet her? What is Adam hiding? Afraid that she’s being made a fool of, Eden is forced to choose between her heart and her head.
