Review: Star Crossed by Kele Moon + SIGNED INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY!
Synopsis
Heavyweight MMA fighter, Romeo Wellings comes from the hard streets of New York where his family ties to the mafia cause him nothing but pain. His life takes a surprising detour when he crosses paths with the twin sister of his long time enemy. After a steamy one-night stand, he faces the fight of his life, but it’s not in the cage. The secret relationship that blooms between Romeo and his real life Juliet has him battling his family and a dark past rather than let her go.
The only lawyer in her hometown of Garnet, Jules Conner is also a volunteer Sheriff’s deputy and co-owner of a successful MMA training center. Strong and dependable, Jules is always there for those who need her. Until one forbidden night in Las Vegas with Romeo leaves her feeling so alive she can’t stop reaching out to the sexy, bad boy of MMA, even knowing the forbidden love affair could jeopardize everything.
As the tide rises against them and the people they love work at keeping them apart, Romeo and Jules hold onto a dream for a better life together and vow to go down fighting rather than accept a tragic ending.

Defying the Odds (#1) Melody and Clay Review
Star Crossed (#2) Romeo and Jules
Crossing the Line (#3) TBR
Star Crossed takes everything that I loved about Defying the Odds and improves upon it. With a knock down, drag out story line full of romance, hot hothothot sex, and a fantastically crafted storyline I enjoyed even more the second time around.
The second book in the series begins a little after the events of the first book and we get a look into Romeo Moretti's side of the big fight between he and Clay, as well as the huge scene that went down with Melody's ex-husband.
As a gesture of thanks, Jules asks Romeo out to dinner, which he is more than excited to agree too. Sparks fly over fusion Italian cuisine and these two aren't the type to deny their attraction, which I really loved about this story. Especially Juliet's go-getum attitude, I can't get enough of that in a heroine.
They both know they can't be together. Jule's brother Wyatt isn't a fan of Romeo's and would throw an absolute fit if he were to find out about their affair. And Romeo has his own family drama. What with them being closely tied to the mob and all <-- which proves to be a huge source of conflict for our star-crossed lovers. Romeo doesn't want Jules to get into the life and he will do everything in his power to help his brothers out of a tough situation.
“In a different life it’d be easy to love you. Hell, it’d be easy in this life if shit wasn’t so fucking complicated.”
I absolutely adore Kele Moon's writing. When I first found her, I think I pulled a Kristen Ashley-typr read-a-thon and went through all of them. Her signature spicy style and knack for penning real, genuine characters ensnares me every time. I love how human she makes their struggles seem and this is very apparent in Star Crossed.
Romeo and Juliet didn’t have a happy ending. That’s how the story went, and no amount of real emotions or good intentions could change the outcome.
